The law in Ohio, in plain English
Ohio's sportsbooks are licensed by the Ohio Casino Control Commission, and every major app operates. Buckeyes fans can compare those books with Novig, which is available in Ohio.
The commission moved in April 2026 to fine Kalshi $5 million for unlicensed sports gaming, and on September 25 the Sixth Circuit ruled that Ohio may apply its gambling laws to Kalshi's sports contracts. Polymarket US does not currently serve Ohio. Novig remains open to Ohio traders, but this is the state most likely to change, so check this page before game day.
