The law in Michigan, in plain English
The Lawful Sports Betting Act opened retail and online sportsbooks under the Michigan Gaming Control Board, and the apps launched in January 2021. Wolverines and Spartans fans can use any licensed app, including DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, BetRivers, Fanatics, bet365 and Hard Rock Bet.
Novig is not available to Michigan residents; Michigan is one of three states, with Arizona and Nevada, where Novig does not operate. Other prediction markets are restricted too: in June an Ingham County judge ordered Kalshi to stop offering sports contracts in Michigan while Attorney General Dana Nessel's lawsuit proceeds, and Polymarket US does not serve the state. For Michigan fans, the comparison on this site is sportsbook against sportsbook.
