Indiana lands College GameDay for Minnesota, and the pick is drawing pushback
ESPN's College GameDay heads to Bloomington for No. 4 Indiana vs. Minnesota on Halloween, though some argue an FCS rivalry deserved the show.

ESPN's College GameDay will broadcast from Bloomington on Saturday for No. 4 Indiana against Minnesota. Not everyone likes the choice. In a column carried by Yahoo, Easy Sportz called the trip a missed opportunity. Its argument is that a thin Week 9 slate was the right moment for the show to feature a smaller program, and its pick was South Dakota State against South Dakota. That game is the 120th meeting of the FCS rivalry, both teams are in the FCS top 10, and the result carries Missouri Valley title and playoff-seeding stakes. The column also said Georgia-Florida, the biggest game on paper, did not fit a campus show because it is played at a neutral site, and it noted that GameDay had already been to five SEC campuses this season.
Awful Announcing agreed the matchup is lackluster on paper but took the opposite view. Drew Lerner wrote that by choosing Bloomington, GameDay "is giving Indiana its due" after the Hoosiers' 2025 national title. The outlet reported that this is the show's third visit to Bloomington and its first since that championship. It is GameDay's second Big Ten stop this season after Ohio State-Iowa in Week 5. It is also the second time this season the show is going to a game that is not on an ESPN network. Kickoff is 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
The pick also extends a run of three straight weeks away from SEC campuses, after the show went to SEC schools in five of the first six weeks.
What it means for Saturday
The cameras will be there, but the numbers suggest a game that is lopsided on paper. Indiana is 7-1, and its only loss came 19-15 to No. 4 Ohio State. Its defense has allowed 12.0 points per game, and it held Michigan to six points last week in a 13-6 road win. The Hoosiers' offense has cooled, though. They scored 52 or more points in two of their first three games but have managed 20, 15 and 13 over the last three.
Minnesota is 5-2 after a 13-10 win over No. 15 Iowa, which followed a 41-13 loss at Purdue. The Gophers have not scored more than 27 points against a Big Ten opponent. They do share one result with Indiana: both beat Michigan, Minnesota by 20-14 at home and Indiana by 13-6 on the road.
Indiana is a heavy favorite on this site's board, which tracks 11 venues. Novig, one of those venues, lists the Hoosiers at -20.5 (-100). The best price anywhere on Indiana is Hard Rock Bet's -19.5 at -115. On the moneyline, Novig has Indiana at -1076 and Minnesota at +1011. Sportsbook hold runs 3.3% to 5.1% on the moneyline and 3.9% to 6.7% on the spread.
The total is 42.5 at Novig, with the over at -100 and the under at -111. BetMGM has the best under price at -110 on the same number, and Pinnacle has the best over at 41.5 (-116). That number sits above the combined scores of Indiana's last three games, which were 37, 34 and 19 points. The Hoosiers' last two games against Ohio State and Michigan were both low-scoring.
